What is NATURMOBILNatur is the Latin root of the word ‘nature’. Drop the ‘e’, add a bit of what it does and there you have it – Naturmobil.
It looks a bit like a modern stagecoach, in that, just like in the olden days, it’s run by a horse. But we haven’t added an engine, or any other fancy technology. The horse runs along on a conveyor belt, which then powers the vehicle. You still need a human at the steering wheel, of course!
Essentially, Naturmobil could act as an advertising tool. Imagine your business or logo on the sides of such an eye-catching mode of transport! It’s also a symbol of helping to save the environment. Well, you can’t get more natural than this.
How does it work?
The way it works is really quite simple. In the back of the Naturmobil we’ve fixed a special treadmill, to which the horse is strapped (quite comfortably, don’t worry!).
When the driver’s in his seat, a pneumatic system will lift the front of treadmill slightly and the clever horse will walk automatically. The power of his walking then activates an impressive 36 gear gearbox.
Naturmobil can reach speeds of 25 to 30km/h, but potentially, on a long and straight path, it can reach 70 to 80km/h.
Before you ask, no, the horse is never uncomfortable in the Naturmobil. In fact, the horse is very comfortable!
We’ve introduced a unique and advanced suspension system, with sensors to control the temperature of the horse’s body. If the horse gets too warm, or tired, an electronic switch will stop the treadmill in action. In cases such as this, a small DC motor will run the Naturmobil to a convenient pace, helping the horse to run it easily.
Inside the Naturmobil, we’ve also added three suitable containers for water and food, so your friend never goes hungry or thirsty.
